What to Do

Activities near Bozeman

There are a lot of fun and exciting things you can do in the Bozeman area. Here are some recommendations, but please reach out to us for any other suggestions!

  • Hiking- Bozeman has many great trail heads and walking paths that take off right from Downtown. Our favorites close to town include Drinking Horse, the “M”, and Peet’s Hill.

  • Museum of the Rockies- MOR is located 1 mile from Downtown and is full of dinosaur fossils and a full-scale T-Rex skeleton.

  • Paradise Valley- Located about 30 miles outside of Bozeman, Paradise Valley is a beautiful place to drive through on the way to Yellowstone National Park when entering through the North entrance. We recommend making time to explore Livingston close by as well as Chico Hot Springs.

  • Big Sky- Known for great skiing, Big Sky is about an hour drive from Bozeman and another beautiful place to check out.

  • Mountain Biking- Similar to great hiking trails, there are lots of awesome trails nearby Downtown. Owen House is a great place to rent a bike if you are up for the adventure.

  • Fishing- September is a great time for fishing in Montana. We recommend booking a guided trip with the following companies: The River's Edge, Montana Angler, or Angler's West Fly

  • Yellowstone National Park- September is a beautiful time to visit Yellowstone National Park. The closest entrance is about 1.5 hours from Downtown.

  • Downtown Bozeman- There are many fun shops, restaurants, and bars to check out right off of main street!

  • A few of our favorite shops include; Hey Day, Schnee’s, Intrigue Ink, Evergreen, and Chalet Sports.

  • Some of our favorite places to eat are; Ted’s Montana Grill (not from Montana), Five on Black, Black Bird, MacKenzie River Pizza, Ale Works, Jam, Open Range, Plonk, Western Café, Fresco Café, Wild Crumb, Treeline Coffee Roasters, Nova Café, and Shine.

  • Our favorite bars and breweries are; Bozeman Spirits, Map Brewery, Rockin R Bar, Crystal Bar, Molly Brown Bar, Pour House, Bacchus Pub, Bozeman Brewing Company, and Mountains Walking Brewery.

  • Of course the list would not be complete with out Alex’ favorite ice cream spot, Sweet Peaks!
